We had a lot of fun making Reindeer Cookies and Christmas decorations this week.
I am a Year 4 student at Paparore School School in Northland, New Zealand. Whaea Deb is my teacher. My blog is a collection of my work at various stages, across different curriculum areas. Throughout my time at Paparore School I may share draft copies of my work for feedback and feedforward. Other times I will share my final published pieces.

Water - An Amazing Substance
We are using water to help us understand different scientific concepts.
On term 4-week 2 we did water science with Te Tinana. First we learnt that water evaporates faster in the sun then in the shade. Then we learnt that if you get a plastic cup a ice cream lid and half a cup of water, something very interesting happens. What you do is put half a cup of water in the plastic cup then you cut a square big enough to go on the top of the plastic cup so there are no gaps on the top of the cup. Flip it up side down and then you take your hand of the ice cream lid. This creates a vacuum and seals the lid to the cup.
